Expansion

Over the past years AV Stumpfl has systematically expanded its position as a manufacturer of high-quality AV components and projection screens. The innovative mobile screens from Austria are used on stages throughout the world. AV Stumpfl is firmly committed to Austria as a production location and is investing 6 million euros in the future at its site in Wallern.

A competence centre for development and electronics manufacturing is being built on an additional 4,000 sq m area. A new warehouse and logistics centre is also being constructed. In the last 30 years AV Stumpfl has played an active role in developing high-quality projection and for this reason is creating an adventure world in the new building which will give visitors an understanding of the history of projection in a fascinating way.

As far back as 2000, in the first expansion phase of the company’s building, the visionary Reinhold Stumpfl was able to set new standards with regard to “green building”. All areas of the existing building have been fitted with under-floor and wall heating systems. In summer these can be utilised to cool the building using ground water. These thermally activated systems are part of the ingenious building services system to create an optimal indoor environment. In addition to a solar power system for hot water production a photovoltaic system to generate electricity has also been installed in the existing building.

In the expansion the aspect of ecological and energy-optimized construction is also in the foreground. The glass roof and triple-glazed facade of the atrium-style building ensure interior areas flooded with light. In addition, external shade systems guarantee the optimal regulation of heat and light. To provide a perfect working environment and the greatest possible comfort for the team at AV Stumpfl we have, amongst other things, a comfort ventilation system including a pollen filter and automatic air humidification and dehumidification as well as a ceiling cooling system.

The ground-breaking ceremony was on the 2nd of july, completion and start-up are planned till autumn 2014.
